Giuliani will be part of Trump’s legal team for the ‘impeachment’ in the Senate

The former mayor of New York between 1994 and 2001, ‘Rudy’ Giuliani, has assured ABC News this Saturday that he is part of the legal team that is preparing the legal defense of the outgoing president of the United States, Donald Trump, for the ‘impeachment’ that must face in the Senate.

Giuliani, who was one of the most active lawyers in the failed attempt to dispute Trump’s election result, has said he is prepared to argue why rejecting the election results is not equivalent to “inciting violence.”

Giuliani was one of the speakers at the rally prior to the assault on Congress on January 6, and in his speech he mentioned carrying out a “trial by combat” on the electoral results.

The House of Representatives, with the vote of all Democrats and ten Republican congressmen – the largest number of members of the president’s party who vote in favor of removing him in history – approved last Wednesday the second impeachment of Donald Trump .

Trump has thus become the first president in the history of the United States to have to face two impeachment processes.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has yet to send the article accusing Trump of “inciting insurrection” to the Senate, where the vote of 17 Republican senators in addition to 50 Democrats is needed to move forward.

Should that happen, Trump would not be able to run again for the Presidency or another federal office in 2024.

In this second impeachment trial, the New York tycoon will not have the advice of some of the most prominent members of his trusted legal team such as Pat Cipollone, who according to various media was critical in a meeting with Trump with the plans to continue to dispute the electoral result of the elections of November 3.
