According to a compilation by Harvard professor Jack Goldsmith, echoed by ‘The New York Times, 60 of the last 65 pardons that Trum had issued were related to himself or were people who have supported his political goals.

Roger Stone, whose sentence had already been commuted by Trump this July, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for lying to Congress, inciting perjury and obstructing the House of Representatives investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
For his part, Paul Manafort was serving a sentence of seven and a half years for his role in a multi-million dollar financial fraud. He thanked the president on Twitter for the pardon and assured him that he “truly made America great,” in reference to Trump’s campaign slogan.
Trump has always defended the innocence of both and has publicly valued the possibility of their pardon, while they have never fully collaborated with Justice.
Previously, he had also pardoned his former National Security adviser, Michael Flynn, his assistant George Papadopoulos and lawyer Alex van der Zwaan, all involved in the Russian plot and indicted by the team of the special prosecutor, Robert Mueller, in the investigation carried out. carried out in 2017.
