The president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, received the first dose of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine against the coronavirus on Monday in a public act to encourage the population to get vaccinated.
“There is nothing to worry about,” Biden said of the vaccine after receiving the dose at ChristianaCare Hospital in Delaware. The event has been broadcast live to reinforce the message, as highlighted by the Biden transition team.
Other top US officials have already been vaccinated, such as Vice President Mike Pence, who was punctured Friday at the White House. However, President Donald Trump has not yet been vaccinated.
