Dominican Republic ratifies installation in the country of office of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration

• Chancellor Roberto Álvarez affirms this entity is a reliable strategic partner for our country.

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Relations (MIREX) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), signed the agreement that formalizes the establishment in our country of the representative office of this Bank, already inaugurated with the presence of President Luis Abinader .

The agreement was signed by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, and CABEI Executive Vice President, Dr. Jaime Díaz. Also present at the event was the Director of the Dominican Republic before CABEI, Hostos Rizik.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that in recent years the Bank has been developing initiatives to improve the governance of the institution by increasing transparency and reforming accountability mechanisms.

“All this makes CABEI a reliable strategic partner for the Dominican Republic, since the changes that have occurred within this body of the Central American Integration System (SICA) correspond to the vision of our Government regarding the clear, responsible and efficient management of the institutions and their resources, ”Álvarez explained.

Meanwhile, the executive president of the financial entity explained that the agreement establishes the legal framework that will regulate its operations in our territory.

“Today is a historic day when signing this agreement, as it seeks to play an active role in promoting the economic and social integration of the region; as well as facilitating cooperation between the countries of the region and the Caribbean, ”added Mossi.

The banking executive recalled that the opening of this CABEI office in Santo Domingo is one more strategic bet of the multilateral one to make available to the Government, businessmen and investors; different financing modalities and financial instruments for actions oriented to the development of the country.
