The coronavirus pandemic breaks a daily record with more than 697,000 new cases and more than 12,600 deaths

The United States continues with the upward trend with more than 224,000 positives and more than 2,900 deaths in the last day.

The new coronavirus pandemic has registered more than 697,000 new cases and more than 12,600 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to more than 69.6 million infected people around the world, according to the balance published this Friday by the Johns Hopkins University.

With the new data, the global count already stands at 69,619,992 infected people and 1,582,342 fatalities, while the patients who have recovered rise to 44.8 million, with India leading the way with more than 9, 29 million people cured.

The United States has registered the worst case data of the entire pandemic in recent weeks and adds more than 224,000 positives and 2,934 deaths in the last daily balance, which exceeds 15.6 million infected people, also leading the classification by number of deaths, with 292,719 fatalities.

India, the second most affected country in the world, continues with the downward trend in the rate of infections. So far it has more than 9.79 million cases and accumulates 142,186 deaths.

Brazil remains in third position in this classification, which is configured based on data from 191 countries and territories with coronavirus cases. The South American giant has registered more than 6.78 million cases and 179,765 deaths.

In the case of Russia, it records 2.54 million positives and 44,769 deaths, while France, located in fifth position, has so far registered 2.39 million infections and 57,044 deaths.

In sixth place, the United Kingdom accumulates 1.79 million confirmed cases and 63,179 fatalities, ahead of Italy, which has confirmed 1.78 million positives and 62,626 deaths.

As the eighth country most affected by the pandemic is Spain, with 1.72 million infections and 47,344 deaths, in the absence of the Ministry of Health updating the balance this Friday.

Next is Argentina, the second country with the most cases in Latin America and which already adds 1.48 million positives and 40,431 deaths, while the ‘top 10’ is completed by Colombia, which accumulates 1.39 million cases and 38,484 victims mortals.

GERMANY ACCUMULATES MORE THAN 21,000 DECAYS
Germany is also over a million cases, with 1.28 million positives and 21,064 fatalities; Mexico, which records 1.21 million positives and 112,326 deaths; Poland, which registers 1.1 million infections and 21,630 deaths, and Iran, which accumulates 1.08 million positives with 51,496 deaths.

Still below one million, Peru has 979,111 people with coronavirus and 36,499 deaths, ahead of the 955,766 infected and the 15,751 deaths recorded in Turkey. Ukraine adds 895,241 infections and 15,266 deaths, ahead of South Africa, the country most affected in Africa by the pandemic, with 836,764 infected and 22,747 deaths.

Above the half a million positives are Belgium (600,397), Indonesia (598,933), the Netherlands (595,473), Iraq (571,273), the Czech Republic (569,205), Chile (566,440) and Romania (539,107).

With more than 400,000 positives are Bangladesh (485,965), Canada (445,828), the Philippines (445,540) and Pakistan (432,327). Already in the arc of the 300,000 infections are Morocco (391,529), Switzerland (368,695), Saudi Arabia (359,415), Israel (352,860), Portugal (335,207), Austria (313,688) and Sweden (312,688).

In the range of 200,000 to 300,000 infections are Hungary (265,003), Jordan (253,121), Serbia (249,224), Nepal (245,650) and Ecuador (200,379).

Above 100,000 positives are Panama, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Bulgaria, Japan, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Armenia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Guatemala, Oman, Slovakia, Moldova, Greece, Egypt, Ethiopia, Honduras, Tunisia, Venezuela, Palestinian Territories, Burma and Denmark.

China, the country where the pandemic originated, has 94,025 infected and 4,748 fatalities.
