Luis Arce begins the inauguration day as president of Bolivia with the blessing of the Pachamama

The president-elect of Bolivia, Luis Arce, has begun the acts for the inauguration with a traditional ceremony to receive the blessing of Mother Earth or Pachamama.

“We thank the amautas and mama t’allas who from the early hours of the morning, in Plaza Murillo, prepared the ritual of offering and gratitude to the Pachamama. We receive the blessings of Mother Earth in this new stage in Bolivia”, has published Arce on his Twitter account.

His running mate and vice president-elect, David Choquehuanca, stressed for his part that this Sunday begins “the time of the new Jacha Uru”, the new Great Day. “Hope has arrived, the time of the new Jacha Uru, time to recover the dignity and identity of our people. Jallalla Bolivia! “, Viva Bolivia !, Choquehuanca has shared on social networks.

The National Council of Amautas and Spiritual Guides of Bolivia has already launched the formal acts of possession of Arce and Choquehuanca. The official activities began with an ancestral ceremony in the Plaza Murillo in La Paz.

“The poncho will never be stepped on. We are the legitimate owners of the homeland. The tenants wanted to deceive us, but we are not vindictive, we forgive them, but we must reconcile and I hope they reflect,” Grandfather Lucas, president of the Council for life, immediately declared. of Ancestral Amautas de Tiwanaku.

The indigenous authorities asked Pachamama (Mother Earth) and Tata Inti (Father Sun) for unity, reconciliation between Bolivians and wisdom for the new leaders, the press office of the candidacy of Arce and Choquehuanca has explained.

After the rituals, which began with the first rays of the sun on this day, the authorities are scheduled to arrive at the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) at 9:30 a.m. and are invited to the act of transmission of command, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. .

SEVEN PROMISES
During the electoral campaign, Arce has made at least seven concrete proposals for the first months of his mandate, many of them related to the coronavirus pandemic and its economic consequences.

Thus, it has promised the payment of a Bonus Against Hunger of 1,000 bolivianos (122 euros) this same 2020 for citizens over 18 years of age who have no income. The initiative has already been approved by Parliament and will be financed by the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Likewise, it has promised a family basket for those homes where they live from the day and that would be delivered by the Armed Forces to guarantee the families’ food.

In economic matters, Arce has promised that he will ratify the ban on layoffs, a regulation breached by numerous companies that have closed and have laid off thousands of workers. In addition, in the event of a new confinement, the State will take charge of the payment of rents for people who do not have a fixed income.

Arce has also promised to substitute imports, promote Bolivian production and thus reduce the amount of imported products as much as possible. “For example, building two diesel plants in Santa Cruz and Cochabamba. So we can produce our own diesel and stop importing,” he said in a recent interview.

Likewise, the president promised the industrialization of natural resources such as lithium from the Salar de Uyuni, hydrocarbons and electricity.

One of the most controversial proposals is a tribute for those who have assets of between 5 and 10 million dollars and that would affect 0.01 percent of the population.

In the purely political sphere, Arce has promised a government of conciliation and national unity and that there will be no persecution against any opponent. He has also promised to reform the justice system, especially so that more weight is given to merits than to voting in the selection of magistrates.
