The coronavirus pandemic already leaves more than 100,000 dead worldwide

The number of deaths worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic has exceeded the threshold of 100,000 deaths, with a total of 15,970 in Spain, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University.

Thus, the pandemic, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has so far left 100,376 dead worldwide, with a total of 1,650,210 cases.

The United States is currently the country most affected by the new coronavirus, with more than 475,000 cases – a figure higher than the sum of Spain, Italy and Germany, the next three countries with the most infections – and 17,925 deaths, only behind Italy, where 18,849 people have died.
