Morales proclaims winner in Bolivia and denounces a “coup d’etat” of the right

Bolivian President Evo Morales has proclaimed his victory in the controversial elections on Sunday and has denounced that there is an attempt of “coup d’etat” in the country by the right and with support from outside the country.

In a statement, he thanked the Bolivians for their “fourth consecutive victory” which they said they had achieved “democratically,” thus giving himself the winner in the first round of the presidential elections, according to local media reports.

He has also called on the population to “organize and prepare” to “defend democracy” that “has cost blood to recover.”

According to the president, “a coup d’etat is in process” by the “right with international support.” “So far we have endured and endured with patience to avoid violence,” Morales defended.
