América Móvil with a profit of 1,023 million dollars in the first quarter

Total revenues for the January-March period of this year totaled 245,653 million pesos (12,929 million dollars), a decrease of 3.1% compared with year-over-year, the telecommunications company said.

Ebitda (gross adjusted operating income) for the first quarter of the year was 75,048 million pesos (3,949.8 million dollars) under the new International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS 16), América Móvil said.

The company explained that with the previous methodology, Ebitda would have been 68,000 million pesos (3,578.9 million dollars) and would have decreased 5.6% year-on-year in Mexican pesos and increased 2.6% at exchange rates. constant.

Until March 31, América Móvil’s net debt was 703,000 million pesos (37,000 million dollars).
In the quarter, América Móvil entered into an agreement to buy 100% of Nextel Brasil for 905 million dollars, an acquisition that is subject to the approval of the telecommunications regulator and the antitrust authority.
