Las Vegas (NV), .- Ozuna swept today at the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2019 to win eleven awards, a figure with which the Puerto Rican reggaeton also beat the record of distinctions for a single artist in a single edition of these awards .
Ozuna, who won as the artist of the year, led the list of winners of the ceremony held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas ahead of Nicky Jam, who won five awards; and Bad Bunny, who triumphed in four categories.
This trio of musicians shared the joy of taking home the song of the year award for “Te Boté”, a song in which they were accompanied by Casper Mágico, Nio García and Darell.
“Thank God for tonight (…) because as a nominee I felt like a winner,” Ozuna said on stage.
“And to all of you, public, for always supporting me and being with me,” added the singer, who dedicated his triumphs to Puerto Rico, the country where he was born, and to the Dominican Republic, a land from which his family also comes.
Likewise, Ozuna won the recognition of male artist and Latin album of the year for “Odyssey”, while the Dominican Natti Natasha, who could not attend the party because she was sick, was proclaimed winner in the category of female artist of the year .
The most special recognition of these Billboard Latin Music Awards went to Juan Luis Guerra, who received the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award as a tribute to his extraordinary career in bachata and merengue.
“First of all, thank Billboard for the recognition of my 35-year career,” said the Dominican after receiving this recognition from his “brother” Juanes.
“I have many people to thank, because without them my career would not have been possible,” he said before enumerating his family, his famous band 4.40, his numerous fans for his “love”, and his native Dominican Republic for the “support for”.
“And above all to Jesus, my lord and savior,” concluded an artist well known also for his deep religious beliefs.

And in the final stretch shone the hits “Taki taki” and “Dance, dance, dance” with Ozuna, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Anuel and DJ Snake united on the tables.
