Fourteen artists from Puerto Rico and R.Dominicana will exhibit at the Santo Domingo Book Fair

San Juan, .- Fourteen artists from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic will exhibit their works within the framework of the International Book Fair of Santo Domingo, which this year has the Commonwealth as a guest country.

The organization of the event reported on Tuesday through a statement that the fourteen artists will exhibit their works at the Quinta Dominica, until May 5.
The exhibition has been supervised by the art critic Carlo Acero Ruiz and organized by Abdías Méndez Robles, Antonio Cortés and Juan Mayí.

The show counts on the participation of the artists Rosa Tavarez, Laura Rodriguez, July Monción, Juan Mayí, Obías Méndez Robles, Antonio Cortés, José Pelletier, Romaguera, Leonardo Durán, Luis Alejandro, Héctor Rafael, Hilario Olivo, Edwin Maurás and Inés Tolentino .

The project, which is presented as Polyphony, “appeals to a dialogue of a set of voices, like the voices and rhythms of the Caribbean discourse.” It is a set of elements that do not find a defined center and move to other areas, organizing themselves in a certain way “, according to Miguel Ángel Fornerín, author of the critical essay and project manager.

The artist and critic Abdías Méndez pointed out that “Polyphony is an aesthetic, chromatic and formal proposal”, after remembering that in polyphony music is a set of simultaneous sounds in which each one expresses his musical idea and in literature is characteristic of the texts they use a plurality of voices

The exhibition, which will open in the sixteenth century building of Quinta Dominica, is a visual dialogue between the two countries marked by the destination of the Caribbean and a gathering of artists who organize themselves to dialogue with art and literature during the Book Fair .

The exhibition will feature a central act on April 27 at the Quinta Dominica, located in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo in the capital. (EFEUSA)
