Presentation of Ednita Nazario will give “greater life” to the Teatro Universidad P.Rico

 San Juan, – The Acting Executive Director of the Theater of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Río Piedras campus (San Juan), Rafael Chaves Otero, affirmed today that the Puerto Rican singer Ednita Nazario will perform on May 18, It will give “greater life” to the historic hall.

“Our commitment to give life to this theater is unwavering, we want to highlight and project the best of it,” said Chaves Otero in a press release on the presentation of the Puerto Rican artist in the renovated theater.

“Who better than Ednita Nazario, an artist so beloved and admired to help us raise funds for our next productions”, emphasized Chaves Otero.

The money raised in the musical show of Nazario, the second of the season of the Theater of the UPR, will be to support the productions in the sanjuanera hall.

The first musical presentation of the season was given by the salsa band El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico on March 18.

It is expected that Nazario will present a unique and special concert in the prestigious theater, when interpreting some of his successes, such as “No Te Mentía”, “You Know Good”, “I Survive” and “It does not hurt so much anymore”.
Originally, the theater hall would be premiered with the staging of the musical “Hamilton” by the Puerto Rican dramatist Lin-Manuel Miranda.

However, due to a threat of demonstrations by UPR trade unionists, the production of “Hamilton” decided to transfer the work to the Luis A. Ferré Fine Arts Center of Santurce (San Juan). (EFEUSA).
