Warner Bros. and DC Comics prepare a sequel to “Shazam!”

Los Angeles, – Just four days after the world premiere of the movie “Shazam!”, The specialized media The Wrap reported today that Warner Bros. and DC Comics are already preparing a sequel to this superhero film.

Henry Gayden, scriptwriter of the first film, will return to write his continuation.

It is still not confirmed that the director of “Shazam!”, David F. Sandberg, will sit back in the director’s chair, although the information from The Wrap points to his return in the sequel.

“Shazam!”, The new proposal of the cinematographic universe of Warner Bros. on the stories of DC Comics, took the number one in the box office of the United States this weekend with an estimated collection of 53.4 million dollars, according to the specialized website Box Office Mojo.

This film also had a sensational response beyond the US borders to enter 158.8 million worldwide.

Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer and Mark Strong are the protagonists of this film that intertwines the epic genre of superheroes with juvenile comedy and gamberra.

“Shazam!”, Which has received good reviews in general, is a new success for Warner Bros. and DC Comics after the successes of “Wonder Woman” (2017) and “Aquaman” (2018) and the film stumbles, although with good box office results, from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” (both from 2016), and “Justice League” (2017).
