Will Smith will play the father of Venus and Serena Williams

Los Angeles, .- The actor Will Smith will interpret Richard Williams, the father of tennis sisters Venus and Serena Williams, in a project that has been presented this weekend to major Hollywood agencies, reported today the Deadline specialized blog.

The script is titled “King Richard” and has been written by Zach Baylin. The representatives of Smith (from the agency CAA) have confirmed that the actor wants that story to become his next film.

Tim White and Travor White will be the producers of the film through the company Star Thrower Entertainment, which have already put their stamp on quality works such as “The Post”, “Wind River” or “Ingrid Goes West”. Smith will also act as a producer through his company Overbrook Entertainment.

Smith, who has in his portfolio the premiere of “Aladdin” for Disney and currently rolls “Bad Boys For Life”, recently resigned to appear in the sequel to “Suicide Squad”, whose production will start soon.

The Williams sisters are two forces of nature who, raised in Compton, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods of Los Angeles, followed a master plan of their father, designed before they were born, to dominate women’s tennis.

Richard Williams encouraged his daughters from a young age to dedicate themselves to the racquet in a professional way because, based on their particular training and their maximum demand, he was convinced that they would be the best in the world.

Without having seen a tennis match in his life, Richard Williams proved the potential of the profession, studied every inch of the sport and trained his daughters with techniques that go beyond the usual sessions, adding exercises more related to football and basketball to enhance your physique.
