The English golfer Justin Rose has today added his tenth title in the American circuit after winning the Farmers Insurance Open tournament, with a total of 267 strokes, two less than the runner-up, the Australian Adam Scott, thus securing himself as number 1 in the world ranking.
Rose, who won the last PGA tournament in May 2018, the Fort Worth Invitational, finished today with 69 strokes -6 birdies for 3 bogeys- on the north field of the Torrey Pines club in San Diego (California), in the one that Scott could reduce an impact to him when concluding with 68, whereas the Spanish Jon Rahm, that yesterday was third party, lowered to the fifth position after finishing, with 72, to the pair of the field.
The Vizcaya did not risk and scored on his card a birdie for a bogey. In total 274 shots, as the Australian Jason Day -winner of this tournament in 2018- and the Northern Ireland Rory McIlroy who today finished with 67 and 69 impacts respectively.
The third place ended up shared between the Japanese Hideki Matsuyama and the American Talor Gooch. The first presented a card with 67 hits and the second with 68, five of the leader.
The tournament has distributed almost 7 million dollars in prizes, more than one million for the winner, which also adds 500 points of the FedExCup.
