The executive director of the Office of Management and Budget (OGP) of Puerto Rico, José I. Marrero, today announced the allocation of an additional $ 5.7 million to the Puerto Rico Police.
According to Marrero explained in a press release, the amount mentioned “will be reprogrammed for expenses and operation of the security agency.”
He explained that the fiscal impact of this transaction is “zero” for purposes of the budget approved by the Fiscal Oversight Board for 2019.
He also indicated that part of the money transferred will be used to pay debts of previous years.
“We will continue to strengthen impact initiatives as well as provide the necessary funds so that our heroes who sacrifice their lives on the streets every day have the necessary resources to keep our streets safe,” the official said.
He noted that the transaction was approved by the Fiscal Oversight Board for Puerto Rico. (EFEUSA) .-
