The shooting of hostages in New Jersey post office concludes

The hostage shooting reported today in an office of the postal service company UPS, in the town of Logan Township in New Jersey, ended with the arrest of the assailant, a man who had been shot in the headquarters where his ex-wife works.

According to the local newspaper NJ, police broke into the scene, where it injured and arrested the attacker, who was not identified.

A spokeswoman for Gloucester County, cited by CNN television, announced the release of the two women, who remained hostage from early morning in the office, located in a commercial district south of the city.

The channel reported that the assailant fired on the roof without causing casualties.

Both women were workers of the courier company and one of them was the ex-partner of the shooter.

The event caused the closure of businesses, premises and even surrounding schools, and the local police deployed some thirty agents.
