Casa Blanca criticizes CNN for suggesting that Trump’s rule was violated

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders today criticized CNN after reporting a possible breach of military regulations by members of troops deployed in Iraq during the recent visit of President Donald Trump.

“CNN will attack anyone who supports President Trump, including the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who fight every day to protect our freedom,” Sanders said on his official Twitter account.
The presidential spokeswoman attached to that tweet a news in which CNN explains that the military could have violated a military regulation that prohibits its personnel from expressing or publicly demonstrating their political preferences.

Active duty personnel, according to the norm, “can not participate in partisan political activities and must avoid that their political activities imply or appear to imply the sponsorship, approval or endorsement of the Department of Defense towards a political candidate, campaign or cause” .

The network published that news after Trump’s videos and photographs were published, signing red caps with his campaign slogan, MAGA (“Make America Great Again”, “Let’s make the US big again”, in Spanish), and with the sign of “Trump 2020” during his surprise visit to the troops.

Trump himself also charged the channel on Twitter today: “CNN and others within the Universe of False News were going crazy with my signature MAGA hats for our military in Iraq and Germany, if this brave young people ask me to sign them your caps, I’ll sign, can you imagine saying NO, we did not bring or give any caps as the False News reported first! “he said.

On his trip yesterday, Trump defended the withdrawal of troops from neighboring Syria, where some 2,000 soldiers are deployed as part of an international coalition against the terrorist group Islamic State (IS).

The Pentagon has deployed some 5,200 soldiers in Iraq, one of the countries where this international alliance led by Washington acts to defeat the EI. (EFEUSA) .-
