The Belgian David Goffin, eleventh seed, defeated Argentine Juan Martin del Potro, fourth favorite, in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Cincinnati, and confirmed that he is the “black beast” of the Tandilense in the Masters 1000.
Although “Delpo” is number 3 of the ATP ranking and Rocourt is eleventh, of the four occasions in which they have faced three have been triumphs for the Belgian and all in this type of competition: Shanghai in 2016, Rome and Cincinnati in 2018.
Del Potro’s only triumph was registered in Basel in 2016.
