World trade will grow 4.4% in 2018, three tenths less than last year, the World Trade Organization (WTO) said today in the presentation of its report on business prospects.
The analysis indicates that most likely this growth will moderate next year and will be around 4%, below the average of 4.8% registered since the nineties, but clearly above the average of 3% of the period after the financial and economic crisis that was declared in 2008.
However, the WTO clarified that these forecasts may be affected and go down due to the increase in trade tensions, which are already affecting the confidence of the private sector and its investment decisions. efe
