The series “Game of Thrones” was the most pirated around the world in 2017, which HBO’s epic fantasy blockbuster led this ranking for the sixth consecutive year, according to the data offered by the specialized portal TorrentFreak.
The seventh and penultimate season of “Game of Thrones” broke audience records but was also marked by its crash launch, since several episodes were leaked in advance either by the action of “hackers” or by errors of the chains that they broadcast the series in Spain or India.
TorrentFreak highlighted that the peak of users who shared an episode on the internet in 2017 was with “Game of Thrones” when 400,000 people had active torrents (link files to download content) that referred to the final chapter of its seventh season.
Behind the series based on the novels by George R.R. Martin was placed “The Walking Dead” and “The Flash”.
They completed the list of the ten most downloaded series this year “The Big Bang Theory”, “Rick and Morty”, “Prison Break”, “Sherlock”, “Vikings”, “Suits” and “Arrow”.
