The film “All The Money In The World” by Kevin Spacey is removed from AFI Fest

The film “All the Money In The World”, directed by Ridley Scott and featuring Kevin Spacey in his cast, canceled its scheduled release at the AFI Fest festival in Los Angeles after numerous allegations of sexual abuse and harassment against the actor .

As reported by the specialized media Deadline, those responsible for “All the Money In The World”, which was to be the film that closed the AFI Fest festival, did not want the controversy surrounding Spacey to cloud the release of the film and the work of the rest of the team.

“‘All The Money In The World’ is an excellent film and more than deserving of its place of honor at the AFI Fest,” the TriStar Pictures studio said in a statement today.

“But given the accusations surrounding one of its actors, and out of respect for those affected, it would be inappropriate to hold a gala at this difficult time, and as a result, the film will be withdrawn.”

However, TriStar Pictures pointed out that more than 800 people have worked on this film and affirmed that it would be an injustice to blame other professionals for the acts of “a secondary actor in the film”, so the commercial premiere of “All The Money In The World “remains on the date scheduled for December 22.

This film, based on real events and also involving Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg, narrates the kidnapping of the grandson of tycoon John Paul Getty, who plays Spacey.

The withdrawal of the AFI Fest film, to be held in Los Angeles from 9 to 16 November, prolongs the great scandal surrounding the double Oscar winner, whose career and reputation are on the line after the serious revelations of known sexual assault against him.

After actor Anthony Rapp denounced Spacey for an incident that occurred in 1986 when the victim was 14 years old, eight workers or former employees of “House of Cards”, Mexican interpreter Roberto Cavazos and director Tony Montana have joined to give to know the enormous history of episodes of abuse or sexual harassment of the protagonist of “The Usual Suspects” (1995).

Spacey apologized to Rapp and later assured that he will seek “evaluation and treatment.”

However, Netflix broke ties with the actor, the project of a film about the writer Gore Vidal fell into oblivion, and “House of Cards”, after temporarily suspend the filming of its sixth season, shuffles “kill” Spacey’s character in the series to get ahead.
