Mexican Sergio Pérez highlighted the performance of the two Force India in Saturday’s qualifying session at the Japanese Grand Prix of Formula One, said that “the pace is good” and hoped that both he and his partner, the French Esteban Ocon, can “add many points”.
In declarations facilitated by his team, the Mexican pilot pointed positively to the race of this Sunday in the circuit of Suzuka. “I think we can add many points because the pace is good,” remarked the ‘Czech’.
Sergio Pérez also congratulated himself for being able to “squeeze the potential of the car to the maximum” and for having signed in the qualifying session “the best possible result”.
He was eighth, just behind Esteban Ocon.
The rider, however, will leave fifth given the penalty of five positions of the Finns Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari). The ‘Czech’ Perez will be in the seventh position of the grid, since the “no” commissioners considered him guilty of having blocked the Canadian Lance Stroll (Williams) during the first qualifying round (Q1).
