Toyota delivered 226,632 vehicles in the United States in September, 14.9% more than in the same period of 2016, thanks to increased sales of Japanese trucks and buses.
So far this year, Toyota has sold 1,831,479 vehicles, 0.5 more than in the same period last year.
By divisions, Toyota delivered 200,436 units in September, up 16.9%, while luxury brand Lexus sold 26,196 vehicles, up 1.5% from 2016.
September maintained the downward trend in demand for cars. Toyota sold 91,886 autos, 0.5% less than in 2016.
However, sales of SUVs and SUVs experienced a sharp increase in September.
Toyota reported that it delivered 134,746 SUVs and pickup trucks, a 28.5% increase.
