With the opening to the public this Saturday of the new attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT !, Disney joined Marvel to offer a new chapter of superheroes in California.
Located at California Adventure Park in Anaheim, the new facility, which replaced the Tower of Terror, immerses the visitor into the adventurous world of the comic book and film series Guardians of the Galaxy.
Bob Chapek, director of Walt Disney’s theme park and resort division, said in the media presentation that this attraction is “full of action and irreverent humor, and offers an incredible ‘mix’ of music.”
For Danna Herrelt, a Hispanic spokesman for Disney, the setting allows you to immerse yourself in the story with details that superhero followers can discover and enjoy.
“You can learn very interesting details of the story from the moment you start to line up to the final thrill when you are in the fall in attraction,” Herrelt told Efe.
The spokeswoman stressed the effort to achieve transformation in record time.
“The attraction was completed in less than a year with the incredible dynamism of Joe Rohde who made a complete transformation of the building and has achieved an excellent staging of the whole story with details like Cosmo, the dog of the film that is Represented with great realism, “he added.
Rohde, creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, highlighted the dynamics and mood of the new fun.
“The stories of superheroes can end up being very serious, with so much action and conflict, but the attraction is fun, dynamic, joyful and irreverently cheerful, which I think will surprise everyone,” he said.
The mission is to “help Raccoon Rocket save the Guardians of the Galaxy” trapped by The Collector in his powerful and well-guarded “Fortress, a 183-foot-tall building (almost 56 meters).”
And the excitement reaches its maximum when visitors sit in an elevator “that loses control by going up and down untimely.”
“Once the visitors take seats and close the doors, the elevator shoots them like a rocket,” Rohde said.
“And then it’s up and down, with the music blaring, the doors opening and closing, and everything becomes chaotic, until Rocket is able to reconnect the system,” added the creative.
Joe Quesada, Marvel’s creative president, acknowledged the importance of the alliance with Disney.

The film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, has grossed in the US. 310 million dollars (for a total of 431 million worldwide) since it was released on 5 May.
The project is complemented by the Summer of Heroes, which runs from May 27 to September 10 featuring some superheroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Groot and Black Widow.
