Russell Westbrook equals Oscar Robertson’s all-time record for NBA ‘triple-doubles’

Washington Wizards US guard Russell Westbrook equaled Oscar Robertson’s historic record for ‘triple-doubles’ of 181 this morning in overtime victory for his team against the Indiana Pacers (132-133).

Westbrook finished the duel at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis with 33 points -11 of 26 from the field-, 19 rebounds and 15 assists in 43 minutes, which allow him to equal the mark of 181 ‘triple-doubles’ established by the historical point guard of Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks Oscar Robertson in 1974.

Robertson needed 1,046 games in 14 seasons to reach 181 ‘triple-doubles’, while Westbrook has achieved it in 939 games over 13 years. Only two other players in NBA history had more than 100 ‘triple-doubles’ in the Regular Season: Magic Johnson (138) and Jason Kidd (107). Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has 99.
