On August 18, Kissimmee voters will decide who will represent Seat 2 on the City Commission, choosing between incumbent Vice Mayor Angela Eady and businesswoman, broadcaster, and community leader Wanda Román.

The race presents voters with two distinctly different backgrounds and leadership styles. Eady is seeking another term after years of service on the City Commission, while Román is campaigning as a newcomer who says her experience in business and community service has prepared her to help lead the city.

As part of The Sun Post Decides 2026, we reviewed official candidate filings, campaign websites, and publicly available information to provide voters with an objective overview of both candidates.

Angela Eady: Experience and Continuity

Angela Eady currently serves as Vice Mayor of Kissimmee and represents Seat 2 on the City Commission.

Angela Eady

She first served on the Commission from 2016 through 2020 before returning to office in 2022, giving her several years of direct experience in municipal government.

Her campaign is centered around the slogan “Experienced. Collaborative. Trusted.”, emphasizing continuity, stability, and a proven record of public service.

According to her campaign platform, Eady’s priorities include:

  • Strengthening public safety
  • Expanding affordable housing opportunities
  • Supporting economic development and job creation
  • Assisting veterans and vulnerable residents
  • Investing in education and community programs
  • Maintaining responsible fiscal management

Her campaign also emphasizes collaboration between city leadership, residents, and local organizations as a key component of effective government.

Eady says her goal is to continue building a stronger Kissimmee while preparing the city for future generations through responsible planning and long-term investment.

Wanda Román: Business Leadership and Community Service

Wanda Román enters the race with a different perspective, highlighting decades of experience in business, broadcasting, and community involvement.

In her official candidate biography, Román describes herself as a business owner, broadcaster, and community leader with more than 23 years of experience in radio and television, serving Central Florida’s Hispanic community.

According to her official filing, she graduated with honors in Management and holds certifications in Criminal Justice, Chaplaincy, Public Insurance Adjusting, and Broadcasting.

She also states that she has owned and operated businesses since 1999, experience she believes provides valuable insight into the needs of entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Kissimmee.

Her campaign slogan, “Called to Serve,” reflects what she describes as a commitment to community service and civic engagement.

Her publicly stated priorities include:

  • Supporting small businesses
  • Strengthening families
  • Promoting economic development
  • Expanding community engagement
  • Encouraging citizen participation in local government

Román’s official biography also lists several community and professional recognitions, including Hispanic Heritage Month honors, Businesswoman of the Year awards, Paoli Awards, and other distinctions for community service.

Although she has not previously served on the City Commission, she presents her professional and community experience as preparation for public office.

Two Different Paths for Kissimmee

The Seat 2 election offers voters two different approaches to leadership.

Angela Eady represents experience within city government and a record of municipal decision-making.

Wanda Román represents a fresh perspective rooted in business ownership, media experience, and community leadership.

Both candidates emphasize economic growth and improving residents’ quality of life, although each approaches those goals from a different background and professional experience.

Ultimately, voters will decide which vision they believe is best suited to lead Kissimmee over the next four years.

The Sun Post’s Commitment to Fair Coverage

As part of The Sun Post Decides 2026, both candidates received the same set of five editorial questions regarding their priorities, leadership philosophy, transparency, economic development, and long-term vision for Kissimmee.

As of this publication, neither candidate had responded to our questionnaire.

This profile was prepared using official candidate filings, campaign materials, public records, and statements made by the candidates themselves to ensure balanced, factual, and impartial election coverage.

Should either candidate submit responses before Election Day, The Sun Post will publish them in full and under the same editorial standards, giving each candidate equal opportunity to communicate directly with voters.

Through The Sun Post Decides 2026, our goal is simple: to provide readers with independent, fact-based reporting that helps them make informed decisions before casting their ballots on August 18.
