Yas González Marks a Double Milestone at Miami Fashion Week

Debut of Her First AI-Powered Virtual Fashion Show and the Official Launch of P-Yas—The New Concept Redefining Women’s Fashion

Miami.—Fashion designer Yas González, founder and creative director of House of Yas, will participate in the inaugural Private Screening of the Miami Fashion Week Virtual Fashion Awards, taking place on May 19, 2026, at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus. Within this historic setting, González will unveil two announcements of profound significance to the industry: her first virtual fashion show powered by artificial intelligence—set against the backdrop of a free Havana—and the official launch of P-Yas™, a new fashion line introducing an unprecedented concept to the world of design.

The Private Screening, scheduled from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM on the first floor of Building 8 on campus, will host the world premiere of the virtual runways and fashion films featured in this inaugural edition. During the event, the finalists—who will be officially presented at the Gala on May 21 at Queen Miami Beach—will also be revealed.

For Yas González, this presentation is far more than a technological debut; it is an act of love, memory, and identity. Her virtual fashion film fuses haute couture, cinematic storytelling, and artificial intelligence to envision a free Cuba—an artistic interpretation of the freedom, culture, hope, and resilience of the Cuban people in the face of the humanitarian crisis currently gripping the island.

Through the visual language of fashion, González transforms the runway into a platform for social reflection and cultural expression, turning each garment into a symbol of identity and every scene into a declaration of faith. The work not only celebrates the beauty and spirit of Cuban culture but also honors those who were unable to live out that dream in freedom. “This project represents one of the greatest dreams of my life. Unlike my grandmother and my mother—who never had the opportunity to live out this dream in freedom—I hope that one day I will be able to have my own atelier in Cuba—my home—and live alongside my family in a country that is safe and free for all Cubans.”

González credits Neiver Álvarez, founder of Boostify Music, as a pivotal member of the creative team behind this vision: a collaboration that unites fashion, storytelling, and technology with a cinematic sensibility that elevates the project to a new artistic language.

The Virtual Fashion Awards mark a new chapter for Miami Fashion Week and for the fashion industry as a whole—a space that celebrates the future of creativity through digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and experiences that bridge technology with art, purpose, and the human soul.

Miami Fashion Week will also mark the official launch of P-Yas™, Yas González’s new fashion line, which introduces a novel concept to the industry: designer garments that transition seamlessly between rest and the active lifestyle of the contemporary woman. P-Yas™ is already a registered trademark with the USPTO, and its concept is poised to be incorporated into specialized academic fashion curricula at the university level, in recognition of its originality within the industry’s vocabulary.

The name P-Yas™ stems from a reinterpretation of the classic “pajamas” (PJs), elevated and transformed by González’s unmistakable signature style: comfortable, elegant, and versatile pieces that a woman can wear to sleep and then—upon waking, simply by changing accessories—transform into a completely different look. This look is suitable for a business meeting, a lunch date, the kids’ school run, or any of the myriad roles the modern woman fulfills throughout a single day.

“P-Yas™ was born from the reality of being a woman—an entrepreneur, mother, wife, daughter, and professional—all in a single day. I wanted to create a garment that could accompany us through each of those moments with comfort and elegance, without the need to change clothes—only our attitude.” P-Yas™ introduces a new term to the global fashion lexicon: the luxury all-day transitional garment, designed to accompany a woman from dawn to dusk without sacrificing either comfort or sophistication. With a single piece—and the power of accessories—a woman can construct multiple visual identities in a single day. This concept, originally conceived by González in 2015 and now backed by intellectual property registration, arrives on the market at a time when the fashion industry is redefining the boundaries between loungewear, workwear, and haute couture.
