Authorities Boost Road Safety Amid Rise in Accidents on Central Florida Highways

I-4 and Major Expressways Remain Among the State’s Most Congested

Traffic authorities in Central Florida have intensified prevention and enforcement campaigns following an increase in accidents recorded on major thoroughfares, such as Interstate 4 (I-4)—one of the state’s busiest and most dangerous highways.

According to recent reports, the region’s growth in both population and tourism has led to increased traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours in the areas surrounding Orlando, Kissimmee, and Lake Buena Vista.

Authorities advise drivers to avoid distractions behind the wheel, observe speed limits, and maintain a safe following distance—especially during heavy rains, which frequently reduce visibility at this time of year.

New infrastructure projects and expansion plans are also being evaluated to help alleviate traffic congestion in the region’s critical transportation corridors.
