Trump lashes out at transgender people and vows to ‘close the borders’ on his first day in the White House

President-elect Donald Trump has lashed out at transgender people on Sunday and vowed to “close the borders” on his first day in the White House, when he will begin “the largest deportation operation in American history.”

Trump has promised to “stop the transgender madness” upon coming to power, saying that he will “keep men out of women’s sports” and that “the policy of the United States will be that there are only two genders: men and women.” He has also criticized diversity, equity and inclusion programs in public institutions and private companies, and has advocated banning them.

He also said that he will sign “a historic series of executive orders to close” the borders, in a lengthy speech he gave at a conservative conference in Phoenix and which he described as a “small preview of the common sense revolution” that his administration will bring.

The tycoon has not clarified who would be deported or when, but has promised to designate the Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations: “Those who operate on American soil will be dismantled, deported and destroyed,” he said, according to statements collected by the newspaper ‘The New York Times’.

“We will end the occupation and January 20th – the day he will be sworn in – will truly be the day of the liberation of the United States,” he declared in his speech, in which he described his adversaries as “bewildered.”

On the other hand, Trump has rejected the idea that has spread lately that the multimillionaire Elon Musk, who will be part of the next cabinet, is the “de facto president,” and has assured that “that is not going to happen”: “I am safe, do you know why? It can’t be, he was not born in this country,” he concluded, in reference to the businessman’s South African origin.

On foreign policy, the president-elect has suggested he might meet with Russian head of state Vladimir Putin early in his term as he seeks to negotiate an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine because it is “one of the things” he wants to “do quickly.” “We have to end this war,” he said.
