US polls show a technical tie between Trump and Harris

The latest national polls in the United States reflect a technical tie between the former president and Republican candidate, Donald Trump, and his rival Kamala Harris, current vice president of the country and candidate for the Democratic Party after Joe Biden’s resignation from re-election.

This is evident from the balance sheet prepared by CNN, which includes the latest five major polls in the country. According to this data, Trump would obtain around 49 percent of the votes, one percentage point more than the current US vice president.

However, the latest demographic studies confirm an upward trend in the Democratic Party after the political earthquake at the end of July, when Biden announced his resignation and Harris quickly stepped forward to run as a Democratic candidate.

Some of these polls also indicate that a larger number of Americans, around 56 percent, prefer Harris as the best alternative to handle the abortion issue, as well as to preserve democracy (53 percent).

On the contrary, 52 percent of those surveyed prefer Trump to handle the immigration issue. In the economic section, just over 51 percent of those surveyed opt for Trump, while Harris convinces around 48 percent of Americans

President Biden confirmed at the end of July his refusal to seek re-election amid a wave of internal criticism for his poor performance in the electoral debate with Trump and suspicions about his poor health. Harris then stepped forward and confirmed her candidacy, managing to balance the polls.

Harris has managed to raise donations to over $300 million in record time and has already named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice presidential candidate. This decision is usually considered for several months, but the Democratic candidate had to make it in just ten days.
