The United States once again exceeds its maximum number of infections in the last day with more than 150,000 new cases
The new coronavirus pandemic accumulates 52.7 million cases and almost 1.3 million deaths worldwide after registering more than 600,000 positives in 24 hours, according to the balance published this Friday by Johns Hopkins University.
Specifically, throughout the world, 606,497 new positives have been registered in the last day for a total of 52,775,736 cases, while the global death toll stands at 1,293,847. More than 34 million people have managed to overcome the disease around the world.
The United States has registered in recent days the worst case data of the entire pandemic and marks its new daily record on this balance, with 153,496 infections in 24 hours, which accounts for 10.5 million in global terms. Deaths from COVID-19 on US soil stand at 242,430.
India, on the other hand, has managed to reduce the rate of infections in recent weeks, although it already exceeds 8.7 million cases and accumulates 128,668 deaths. The Asian country is the one that has registered the most recoveries to date, more than 8.1 million people.
Brazil remains in third position in this classification, which is configured based on data from 191 countries and territories with coronavirus cases. The South American giant has registered more than 5.78 million cases and 164,281 deaths.
UNITED KINGDOM OVERCOMES ARGENTINA
France, for its part, has become in recent days the epicenter of the second wave in Europe and already includes in its balance more than 1.91 million positives and 40,461 fatalities, ahead of Russia, which accumulates more than 1.86 million cases of COVID-19, and 32,156 deaths.
Spain is next, with more than 1.43 million cases and 40,461 fatalities, followed by the United Kingdom, which, with 1.2 million cases and 51,020 deaths, has surpassed Argentina in the last hours, in turn the second country with the most cases in Latin America, with 1.28 million infected, and accumulates 34,531 deaths from the disease.
Colombia is also over a million positives, with 1.17 million infections and 33,491 deaths; and Italy, which exceeds one million cases with 43,589 deaths.
Next, Mexico registers 991,835 infected people and 97,056 fatalities, compared to the 928,006 infected and the 35,031 deaths that are counted in Peru. Another advance registered in the last hours is that of Germany, with 762,832 cases and 12,216 deaths, which has surpassed South Africa in the last hours. This country continues to be the most affected by the pandemic in Africa, with 744,732 cases and 20,076 deaths. Behind is Iran, with 726,585 infections and 40,121 deaths.
POLAND, AT RECORD RHYTHMS
Poland, which has chained several infection records, already exceeds 641,496 cases of COVID-19 with 9,080 deaths, while Ukraine – 527,808 infections and 9,604 deaths -, Chile –526,438 positives and 14,699 deaths -, Belgium – 520,393 positives and 13,891 deaths – and Iraq –511,806 cases and 11,532 fatalities – also figure above the half million threshold.
With more than 400,000 positives are Indonesia, with 452,291 positives and 14,933 fatalities; Czech Republic, with 446,675 cases and 5,755 deaths; The Netherlands, with 437,376 infections and 8,375 deaths; Bangladesh, with 427,198 cases and 6,140 deaths; Turkey, with 404,894 cases and 11,233 deaths; and the Philippines, with 402,820 positives and 7,721 deaths.
Already in the range of 300,000 infections are Pakistan (352,296), Saudi Arabia (352,160); Romania (334,236) and Israel (322,159), while in the range of 200,000 to 300,000 infections are Canada (285,936), Morocco (276,821), Switzerland (250,396) and Nepal (204,242).
Above the 100,000 positives are Portugal (198,011), Austria (181,642), Ecuador (177,513); Sweden (171,365), United Arab Emirates (146,735), Panama (143,352), Bolivia (142,889); Qatar (135,132); Kuwait (134,932); Jordan (132,086), Dominican Republic (131,636); Hungary (126,790); Costa Rica (120,939); Oman (119,442); Kazakhstan (119,129); Armenia (114,383), Japan (114,357); Guatemala (113,543); Belarus (110,455); Egypt (110,095); Honduras (101,468), Ethiopia (101,248) and Lebanon (100,703)
China, the country where the pandemic originated, counts 91,783 infected and 4,742 fatalities.
