Iran asks to bring the US to international courts for “systematic racism” and human rights violations

Iranian authorities have called on Tuesday to bring the United States to international courts for “systematic racism” and human rights violations, in the wake of the crackdown on protests in recent days over the death of George Floyd, a black man. , at the hands of the Police during his arrest.

President of the Iranian judiciary Ebrahim Raesi has stressed that Floyd’s death “has unmasked the United States” and added that “it is not just about the color of the skin, it is about systematic racism in the United States.”

Floyd’s death last week after spending nearly nine minutes with his neck strapped to the knee of Police Officer Derek Chauvin has sparked protests, riots, and looting in the most populous city in the state of Minnesota, now under a state of emergency, as well as in other parts of the country.

United States President Donald Trump said late Monday that he has “strongly recommended” state governors to deploy the National Guard “in sufficient numbers” to stop the protests and warned that if they refuse, will mobilize the Army.
