The American giant adds more than 27,000 cases the same day that Trump assures that the “peak” of infections has “passed”
The new coronavirus pandemic originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has already far exceeded the threshold of two million cases and leaves more than 137,000 fatalities worldwide, with the United States registering more than 27,000 cases in the past 24 hours and surpassing the 30,000 fatalities in total the same day that the American president, Donald Trump, has advanced that studies the guidelines to “reopen” the country because the “peak” of contagions has already “passed”.
According to the balance updated at 8:30 am this Thursday, the pandemic leaves 2,064,815 people infected and 137,108 fatalities, with the United States as the most affected country, with a total of 639,664 positives and more than 30,000 deaths.
The North American giant grows again above 25,000 positives in a single day, after registering in the last 24 hours 27,100 new cases of coronavirus and accounting for 30,980 deaths from the pandemic.
New York State remains the epicenter of the coronavirus in the United States, with a total of 214,832 infected people and 10,889 fatalities. To date, US authorities have conducted more than 3.2 million coronavirus tests.
Spain continues to be the second country most affected by the number of infections, with 180,659 people infected and 18,812 people dead, followed by Italy, which accounts for 165,155 people infected and 21,645 fatalities due to Covid-19, the disease derived from the coronavirus.
UNITED KINGDOM APPROACHES 100,000 CASES
Germany is now in fourth position, with a total of 134,753 positives and 3,804 deaths, a short distance from France, which has 134,582 infected people and 17,188 deaths. The United Kingdom remains the sixth most affected country, bordering on 100,000 cases, with a total of 99,489 people infected and 12,894 deaths from coronavirus.
China, the origin of the pandemic and for months the most affected country in both cases and fatalities, now ranks as the seventh most positive, with a total of 83,402 positives and 3,346 fatalities due to coronavirus.
Next is Iran, which accounts for 76,389 infections and more than 4,777 deaths from the new coronavirus, while Turkey has a total of 69,392 infected people and 1,518 deaths. Belgium, for its part, accumulates 33,573 cases and 4,440 deaths.
Brazil, the Netherlands, Canada, Switzerland and Russia are above 20,000 cases. Exceeding the 10,000 infected are Portugal, Austria, Ireland, Israel, India, Sweden, Peru and South Korea.
Japan and Chile exceed 8,000 cases, while Ecuador, Poland and Romania exceed 7,000. Denmark, Norway, Pakistan and the Czech Republic account for more than 6,000 people infected with coronavirus. For their part, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Malaysia accumulate more than 5,000 cases.
Serbia has more than 4,000 infected people, ahead of Ukraine, Panama, Belarus, Qatar, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, Luxembourg, Finland and Colombia, which have already crossed the threshold of 3,000 infected people.
Thailand, Argentina, South Africa, Egypt, Greece, Algeria, Moldova and Morocco have more than 2,000 infected people, while Croatia, Iceland, Bahrain, Hungary, Iraq, New Zealand, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Bangladesh, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lithuania have over a thousand infections.
