The new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) that is causing an outbreak of pneumonia in China and other Asian countries is mainly transmitted through air drops, but physical contact is also another way of spreading, as explained by the Chinese health authorities.
This information has been revealed by the Chinese National Health Commission on Tuesday, in an update of the plan for the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus. Compared to the previous version, the plan adds new epidemiological characteristics of the virus.
Thus, it collects that the main source of infection is people who are already infected. If they become infected, the elderly and people with underlying health problems, such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease, are more likely to become seriously ill.
