Seattle (USA), – Ranger Kyle Schwarber hit a full back with a runner in front and sealed the Chicago Cubs’ 6-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners in interleague series play.
In sub-leader teams play in their respective divisions, Schwarber (4) hit back in the eighth inning with a base runner to define the Chicago ninth slate.
The victory was relayed by Brad Brach (3-0) in one inning and a third, giving away two passports.
For the Mariners the first Dominican baseman Edwin Encarnación (8) connected from four corners in the seventh inning, without runners on base.
