“Roma” gets the Oscar nomination for best film in a foreign language

The film focuses on an indigenous woman who works as a domestic worker for a white and bourgeois family of the 70s in Mexico City.

No Mexican film has achieved to date the Oscar for best foreign language film at the most important gala of the cinema.

For its part, the Colombian “Pájaros de verano”, which had been cast among the nine preselected, did not receive the nomination from the Hollywood Academy.
