Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was sentenced this Friday to over four years in prison (50 months) and ordered to pay a $500,000 fine (approximately €425,000) for two prostitution-related charges.
Judge Arun Subramaniam held that the convicted man “expressed no remorse” following his sentences and that this was “totally inconsistent with reality and his acceptance of responsibility,” according to NBC News.
At trial, the rapper’s attorneys argued that the sexual encounters in question were consensual; however, the judge indicated that the victims were abused “physically, emotionally, and psychologically.”
‘Diddy’ Combs was charged with sex trafficking and racketeering after being arrested in New York six months after US authorities investigated his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.
In May 2024, former model Crystal McKinney filed a complaint against the rapist for an alleged rape in 2003, when she was 22 years old. This accusation adds to the five complaints filed by various victims of sexual violence and abuse.
According to the victim, the man also known as Puff Daddy demanded that she follow him to the bathroom, where she says he forced himself on her, beginning to kiss her and pushing her head toward his crotch before ordering her to perform fellatio.
This July, he was found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution and was acquitted of three counts of sex trafficking (2) and one count of extortion (1).
