The White House inaugurates a ‘Presidential Walk of Fame’ and places an automatic pen in Biden’s place

The White House inaugurated the “Presidential Walk of Fame” on Wednesday, a walkway located outside the Oval Office that includes portraits of all US presidents except the most recent, Joe Biden, replaced by an image of an automatic pen typing the former Democratic president’s signature.

The White House itself has shared several images of this walkway on the social media platform X, including one in which the current occupant, Donald Trump, strolls through the photographs, surrounded by gilt frames, and stops in front of the painting intended for his predecessor.

The use of the “autopen,” an instrument that allows people to sign different documents once the actual signature template has been entered, has been one of the main issues the Republican has criticized Biden for, alleging alleged abuse due to the “cognitive decline” he attributes to Biden, despite the fact that this tool has been used by multiple presidents of both parties in recent years.

In fact, last June, the Republican ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi and the presidential counsel to investigate to determine “whether certain individuals conspired to mislead the public about Biden’s mental state and unconstitutionally exercise the authorities and responsibilities of the president.”

Biden has rejected Trump’s repeated accusations, stating that Trump’s suggestions are “ridiculous and false” and framing them as an alleged distraction from the current president’s administration.

Meanwhile, the Walk of Fame renovation is the latest example of Trump’s redesign of the presidential palace, which has also ordered the replacement of the Rose Garden lawn with a stone patio and the construction of a ballroom near the East Wing of the White House.
