Ukraine estimates Russian combat casualties since the start of the invasion at nearly 1.1 million

The Ukrainian Armed Forces on Friday raised the number of dead and wounded suffered by the Russian Army to nearly 1.1 million since the start of the invasion of the European country in February 2022. Russian authorities have not provided an official death toll for months.

The Ukrainian Army General Staff stated in a statement posted on its Facebook account that “the enemy’s estimated combat losses amount to approximately 1,099,530,” including 1,150 during the last day of fighting, centered in several provinces in eastern Ukraine.

He also stated that Russian forces have lost 11,191 tanks, 23,278 armored personnel carriers, 1,218 anti-aircraft systems, 422 aircraft, 231 helicopters, 60,680 drones, 3,718 cruise missiles, 28 ships, one submarine, and 62,044 fuel transport vehicles. “The data is being updated,” he concluded.
