The National Assembly denounces that the new US measures against Maduro seek to incite violence

The Venezuelan National Assembly has expressed its support for the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro, and denounced the United States’ interference in the country, asserting that the $50 million (almost €43 million) bounty imposed on the Venezuelan leader by US authorities seeks to incite violence in its territory.

“This legitimately elected and pluralistic Parliament supports the constitutional president and expresses our absolute conviction to accompany him in the defense of our sacred homeland. In 25 years of revolution, we have resisted and advanced despite constant imperialist aggression,” declared the president of the Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, in a press conference in which he read the statement prepared by the Parliament.

Thus, the Venezuelan deputies maintained that this new “aggression” repeats “old formulas of gross interference and useless threats to destabilize the peace, tranquility, and consolidation of prosperity of the entire Venezuelan homeland.”

In response, they have called for the unity of all citizens of the country and have asserted that the United States intends to encourage “extremist” groups in the country to “resume violence that will be defeated and will continue to be defeated across the board by our government and our Venezuelan people.”

“We reject the absurd and desperate actions announced by the US Attorney’s Office, which are clearly illegal and without any real basis, beyond the delusional attempt at aggression against the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and against our rebellious and courageous people,” the statement reads.

In the words of Rogríguez, President Maduro is the “guarantor of peace” and “protector of solid democracy,” asserting that “today” Venezuela is the safest country with the greatest economic growth in Latin America. “Perhaps what these heralds of the outdated empire cannot forgive has been our unwavering defense of sovereignty, independence, and peace for all,” he added. indicated.

He also defended the “extremely free elections” the country has held in recent years, all of which have been under the international spotlight for their lack of transparency.

“We tell you clearly that Venezuela will not surrender. With civic-military-police unity, we will defend our independence and the path to a prosperous, just, and equitable country that we will pass on to future generations. We demand respect for the people of Bolívar, our Constitution, and the will of millions of Venezuelans who will not return. We will win!” he concluded.
