Trump Celebrates Cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s Show and Calls Jimmy Fallon a “Moron”

President Donald Trump has applauded the cancellation of the CBS talk show hosted by host and comedian Stephen Colbert.

Days earlier, Colbert had criticized the network’s parent company, Paramount, for settling a lawsuit with Donald Trump for $16 million over the president’s claim that CBS News deceptively edited an interview with then-Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The network, which has limited itself to citing “financial pressures,” has announced that the cancellation will take effect in May 2026, marking the end of a show that combined interviews, humor, and criticism of the US president.

“I love that Colbert got fired. He had even less talent than he had an audience,” Trump stated on his TruthSocial platform before asserting that “Jimmy Kimmel, who has even less talent, is next,” referring to another of America’s great television and variety show hosts.

Trump finally applauded libertarian comedian and political commentator Greg Gutfeld, once Colbert’s counterpart on the conservative network Fox News, the president’s favorite. “He’s better than all the others combined, including that jerk at NBC who ruined the Tonight Show,” Trump declared in a final comment directed at actor and host Jimmy Fallon, who completed the trio of the country’s great late-night talk shows.
