Trump comes to Pam Bondi’s defense after accusations of lack of transparency in the Epstein case

The president urges top FBI officials Kash Patel and Dan Bongino to not pursue the Jeffrey Epstein case

Elon Musk calls on Trump to release Epstein’s papers as he promised

President Donald Trump has said that US Attorney General Pam Bondi is doing a “fantastic job,” coming to her defense amid accusations from members of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement of a lack of transparency in the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“We’re on a team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s going on. We have a perfect Administration, (…) and ‘selfish people’ are trying to undermine it, all for one guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” the US president said in a message from his Truth Social account.

The United States Federal Police (FBI) and the Department of Justice determined this Monday that Epstein’s death in August 2019 in his Manhattan prison cell—who had been imprisoned just weeks earlier for the crime of child sex trafficking—was due to suicide, thus clearing up the doubts and conspiracies surrounding the cause of his death.

Authorities also asserted that there is no “client list”—known as the “Epstein list”—that compiles the names of all the people involved in the parties organized by the magnate and in the child trafficking network.

This closing of the investigation, which was requested by Trump himself, has sparked criticism within the MAGA movement, which, after years of theories about this case, points to a lack of transparency on the part of the attorney general.

Trump has linked the documents on the Epstein case to the previous Democratic administration, downplaying the issue of their non-publication. “Why are we publicizing the files written by Obama, corrupt Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the losers and criminals of the Biden Administration?” he asked.

“If there was something there that could have harmed the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?” the White House resident asked, trying to silence those who question his trustworthiness.

In this sense, he considered this matter to be part of a strategy to destabilize his administration, despite the “success” that, according to Trump, he is having in his first six months in office.

For his part, South African magnate Elon Musk—head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) until last May—has also asked the president of the United States to release the Epstein files.

“He (Trump) has said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files like you promised,” he said in a message from his X account.

On June 7, Musk accused the president of appearing in documents about the child trafficker’s case, shortly after leaving DOGE. He ultimately retracted his statement and eventually deleted the incriminating message.

OPEN RIFT WITH THE FBI

Criticism has fallen on FBI chief Kash Patel and his deputy, Dan Bongino, who, according to reports reported by US media, are planning to leave their posts due to Pam Bondi’s actions and after a tense meeting this Wednesday between Bondi and Bongino, which reportedly focused on the FBI’s top brass’ intentions to further pursue the Epstein investigations.

“Kash Patel and the FBI should focus on investigating election fraud, political corruption, ActBlue, the rigged and stolen 2020 election, and arresting thugs and criminals, instead of spending month after month reviewing the same old, radical left-inspired documents,” Trump asserted.

Maga critics have polarized the situation, asserting that Bondi and the FBI officials cannot continue to belong to the same administration and calling for the Attorney General’s departure.

“Fire Bondi! Keep Dan and Kash!” former U.S. Congressman George Santos posted on his X account.

“The Department of Justice is now in chaos and preservation mode, trying to get Kash Patel and the FBI to defend Scam Blondi (Pam Bondi) and spread their false narrative that there is no disagreement between Blondi, Bongino, and Kash,” said conservative MAGA activist Laura Loomer.

TRUMP ASKS BONDI TO INVESTIGATE ELECTION FRAUD

For the Republican leader, the Attorney General’s Office should investigate the 2020 election—which Trump lost to former Democratic President Joe Biden and ultimately led to the assault on the Capitol—and which he calls fraudulent, something the Democrats also allegedly attempted in the 2024 election, which he won.

“Let’s keep things this way and not waste time or energy on Jeffrey Epstein, someone no one cares about,” he concluded after asking that Pam Bondi be allowed to do her job.
