Khamenei Assures in a National Address that Israel “Will Not Emerge Unscathed” from Its Attacks on Iran

“They have started the war. We will not allow them to get away with it,” he says.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has assured in a national address that Israel “will not emerge unscathed” from its attacks on Iranian territory, bombings that have hit nuclear facilities and critical military infrastructure.

“The Zionist regime will not emerge unscathed from this crime. The Iranian people can be assured that there will be no respite in this regard,” he stated Friday, adding that the Iranian armed forces “will act with determination and make Israel miserable.”

Khamenei stated that Israel “has made a grave mistake.” “They started the war. We will not allow them to get away with this great crime they have committed,” he said, adding that all factions in Iran believe the country “must act decisively” in the face of Israeli attacks.

This comes after the new commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Mohamed Pakpur—appointed by Khamenei after the death of his predecessor, General Hossein Salami—vowed to “open the gates of hell” to Israel and stated that its “crimes” will not go “unpunished.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also condemned the “savage and criminal assault” by the Israeli army and stressed that Tehran will give “a powerful and legitimate response” that will make “the enemy regret this stupid action.”

Israeli forces have launched a “preemptive strike” against Iran, bombings that have killed several senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists, prompting Iranian authorities to call on the international community to act on these events and to promise a response against Israel.
