Aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip will close this Wednesday to “improve efficiency”

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by Israel and the United States to manage the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Palestinian enclave, has announced that the distribution centers will remain closed this Wednesday, June 4, to “improve efficiency.”

“Tomorrow, June 4, the distribution centers will remain closed for renovations, reorganization, and efficiency improvements. Due to the ongoing renovations, access to the distribution center areas is strictly prohibited,” the organization stated in a message confirming that it will resume operations this Thursday.

Israeli Army Arabic spokesman Avichay Adraee posted this message on his X social media account, warning residents of the Gaza Strip that “traffic on the roads leading to the distribution centers, which are considered combat zones, will be prohibited.”

GHF, which is based in Switzerland, has been under fire for weeks from the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations, alleging that it violates international standards of neutrality in the delivery of aid and that it is considered the figurehead of a controversial plan that involves the presence of private security and the Israeli army in Gaza to guard the perimeter at food delivery points.
