US President Donald Trump posted an artificial intelligence-generated image on his Truth Social platform this Saturday in which he appears dressed as the Pope.
The White House posted the image on its official, verified account on the social media platform X. In it, Trump appears wearing a white cassock and gold-patterned miter, with a gold crucifix around his neck, while raising his right hand in a papal blessing.
Trump joked about the possibility of becoming Pope Francis last Tuesday when the media asked him to speculate on the name of a successor to the late Pope Francis.
“I’d like to be me. That would be my number one choice,” Trump joked, before hinting, though not explicitly mentioning, the name of New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan.
