Trump boasts of his policies in the first two months of his mandate: “the country is no longer ‘woke'”

The head of the White House, Donald Trump, celebrated this Tuesday before Congress that the United States “is no longer ‘woke'”, during a speech in which he boasted of his policies against diversity and inclusion, illegal immigration and in terms of cuts during the first months of his second term.

Trump has boasted of having removed “men from women’s sports competitions”, having made it state policy that “there are only two sexes” and of being “protecting” minors by eliminating “support for divisive and radical gender and equity ideology”.

In this sense, the American president has also asked Congress to criminalize surgical operations for sex change in minors. “I want Congress to pass a bill that permanently bans and criminalizes sex changes for children and forever ends the lie that every child is trapped in the wrong body,” he said.

In his one-hour-and-40-minute speech, he highlighted the executive orders he has signed so far and outlined to Congress how it should implement his legislative agenda, approving tax cuts for “everyone,” for example, funding the Golden Dome anti-missile shield or repealing the law of his predecessor, Joe Biden, which subsidizes semiconductor chips with $52.7 billion (€49.5 billion).

On the other hand, the president praised the work of billionaire Elon Musk at the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), stressed his “unprecedented offensive” against illegal aliens and promised that “we will rediscover the unstoppable power of the American spirit.”

“My fellow Americans, prepare for an incredible future because America’s golden age has just begun. It will be like nothing ever seen before. Thank you, God bless you and God bless America,” he concluded before being applauded by the Republican bench.
