Edmundo González includes Uruguay in his tour of Latin America that begins this Saturday

The Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González will travel this Saturday to Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, where he will be received by the local president, Luis Lacalle Pou, after visiting the Argentine president, Javier Milei, in Buenos Aires that same day.

González, for whom the Venezuelan authorities have offered a reward of 100,000 dollars in the last few hours for information that could help in his arrest, will also be received by Lacalle Pou at the presidential residence in Montevideo.

This has been confirmed by González’s campaign team in a brief statement in which he has encouraged the Venezuelan community in Uruguay to gather outside the place. “Second stop. See you in Uruguay!” González has stated on his social networks

Before, his tour of Latin America will take him to Casa Rosada, where he will meet with Milei during the morning of this Saturday. Relations between the governments of Argentina and Venezuela are not going through their best moment.

In addition to the verbal clashes between Milei and his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, there is the recent arrest of the Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, who Caracas accuses of crimes related to terrorism. Argentina has already filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) for “arbitrary detention.”
