Mexico.- After the exhibition “Talismans of a Sacred Journey” by Leonora Carrington was presented at the Galerie Sator, located in the Le Marais neighborhood in Paris, France, the artist will now have her own museum in this European country.
The last exhibition, conceived to capture the mystical and playful spirit of Leonora Carrington’s work, celebrated the artist while reaffirming her place as one of the most iconic figures of surrealism.
The Council, under the direction of its president, dedicated a significant effort to this exhibition, considered one of the most detailed and complex projects in its history. With a meticulous approach, it sought to highlight the less explored facets of Leonora Carrington’s work.
Laurent Doucet, President of the Maison André Breton in France and curator of the exhibition, played a key role in establishing the collaboration with Galerie Sator and managing the participation of Le Centre Pompidou, which gave the project a remarkable historical and cultural backing.
With a set evoking her workshop, a space halfway between a cabinet of curiosities and a magical sanctuary, visitors interacted with drawers that revealed previously unseen pieces, immersing themselves in a world of mystery and wonder.
A museum dedicated to Leonora Carrington will open
By 2025 there are plans for this exhibition to be presented in various cities in Europe during the next year and the upcoming opening of a museum dedicated to Leonora Carrington in France, under the direction of the Leonora Carrington Council, the artist’s legacy remains alive, crossing borders and connecting cultures.
