Russia returns bodies of over 500 fallen soldiers to Ukraine

Ukrainian authorities reported on Friday that Russia has returned the bodies of 503 of its soldiers who fell during the conflict, which has been going on for over two years, mainly from Donetsk.

Thus, the Ukrainian office that coordinates the repatriation of soldiers killed in combat has detailed the delivery of 403 bodies from Donetsk; twelve from Lugansk, 57 from Zaporizhia, and another 31 that have arrived from morgues located in Russian territory.

The Ukrainian authorities have also highlighted the work of other government offices, of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and “especially” that of the personnel of the Armed Forces in charge of transporting the “fallen heroes”.

Last November alone, the Russian authorities returned more than 1,000 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers.
